The woman

saw the tree was good for food

and a delight to the eyes,

and the tree was desired

to make one wise,

so, she took the apple and ate it,

and mistakenly

gave one to the man.

Genesis 3:6

(sort of, but not really)

Ellum is the Creator of Amparo, a peaceful world now troubled by a malevolent presence who returns in predictable cycles. This time, the enemy wields a new weapon, not sword or spear, but conversion, mandatory assimilation into the Children of One, a cult demanding submission and blood sacrifice. Ellum must intervene before Her world is forever bound in an unwelcome delusion.

As the enemy strengthens, the color yellow vanishes and an ancient prophecy ignites. Ellum is born into her creation, innocent, unaware of her origin, just like everybody else. Or is she? At age twenty-one, her powers manifest. She is accused of dark magic. Compelled by a midnight apparition, she leaves home in search of her sisters Olivia and Leona. A tormented sculptor named Ansel is assigned as her protector. Their relationship is a twisted thread of romance, a sensuous slow burn woven through the journey leading to a bittersweet family reunion.

But Deborah, the charismatic leader of the Children of One, awaits them all! As the enemy crests the horizon, a choice must be made.

Will the land of Amparo be healed by a Yellow Jewel?

Or will they be seduced by a totally depraved tyrant?
